Planes, Planes and Misspelled Names
We have arrived! What a journey it has been. The week leading up to us leaving started with two misspelled names on our tickets. With hopeful hearts and many prayers we were able to make it on to each plane without issue. Our day was long and for many of us we have slept only a few mere hours within the past two days. Our day started at the early hour of 2:30 am where we left ACS to begin our travels. After 2 long plane rides and one very long layover we finally arrived. One would expect us to be exhausted beyond recognition and that our energy would reflect our sleepy eyes, however the excitement of finally coming masked our inevitable tiredness. Through endless laughter on the planes, playing card games in the airport and sharing in our excitement for what's to come, we pushed our exhaustion to the side to share in the special moment of finally arriving. After months of anticipation the first steps off the plane offered a feeling of we made it, now let the journey begin. As I sit here listening to the chirping crickets and feel the cool breeze of the tropical wind, I feel a peace in knowing that these next 2 weeks will be full of love, laughter and new relationships that we will carry with us for many years to come. Coming for a second time, I now know how special this relationship is that we are fostering in Nicaragua and I look forward to see each of our students experience this unique opportunity. Thanks again for your prayers. Goodnight!
